Focus on the Family, who should really be focusing on their own family and leaving everyone else’s alone, is pushing children to bring their bibles to school and share their favorite verse. Somehow they drafted Drew Brees to help voice this idea.

Brees shares his favorite bible verse, 5 Corinthians 5:7 which states:

” For we live by faith, not by sight.”

I have some other biblical verses that would be fun to bring to school as well.

Numbers 5: 19-24 states:

19 Then the priest shall put the woman under oath and say to her, “If no other man has had sexual relations with you and you have not gone astray and become impure while married to your husband, may this bitter water that brings a curse not harm you.
20 But if you have gone astray while married to your husband and you have made yourself impure by having sexual relations with a man other than your husband”—
21 here the priest is to put the woman under this curse—“may the LORD cause you to become a curse among your people when he makes your womb miscarry and your abdomen swell.
22May this water that brings a curse enter your body so that your abdomen swells or your womb miscarries.” “ ‘Then the woman is to say, “Amen. So be it.”
23 “ ‘The priest is to write these curses on a scroll and then wash them off into the bitter water.
24 He shall make the woman drink the bitter water that brings a curse, and this water that brings a curse and causes bitter suffering will enter her.

Or how about Psalms 137:9

Happy is the one who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks.

2 Kings 8:12 states:

12 And Hazael said, “Why does my lord weep?” He answered, “Because I know the evil that you will do to the people of Israel. You will set on fire their fortresses, and you will kill their young men with the sword and dash in pieces their little ones and rip open their pregnant women.”

Exodus 21:22-24

22 “If two men are fighting, and in the process hurt a pregnant woman so that she has a miscarriage, but she lives, then the man who injured her shall be fined whatever amount the woman’s husband shall demand, and as the judges approve. 23 But if any harm comes to the woman and she dies, he shall be executed.
24 “If her eye is injured, injure his; if her tooth is knocked out, knock out his; and so on—hand for hand, foot for foot,

Of course, you may not want to focus on all the areas of the Hebrew bible where the Lord seems to contradict every pro-life argument there is to be had. Maybe you want to try Acts 4:

32 All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had.33 With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all 34 that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales 35 and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need.

Sounds like these believers embraced socialism.

Do you have any other great bible verses for “Bring Your Bible To School Day”? I personally don’t believe we should be using school time for evangelism. But hey, if the kids are bringing their favorite religious tracts to school, why not do a little counter-evangelism?
