This time on Fat Man Rants I discuss the recent veto of the Jim Crow type laws proposed in Arizona for gay people.

Old E.W.E, otherwise known as Edwin Edwards, the former governor of Louisiana and convicted felon is apparently mulling a run for Congress. When asked, Edwards stated that he didn’t have any comment at this time. This is otherwise political speech for “yes, I intend to”. Until we get a final answer from former Governor Edwards, I have some thoughts on the issue.
Last year the Louisiana food stamp program had an error which caused to some people to overcharge their cards for food. I will talk about how many people were punished for what the GOP calls rampant fraud and abuse.
Mardi Gras is coming up next week in the City of New Orleans. Some new laws have been passed to cover some activities along the parade route. I will talk about some of those and if they are good for the city.
And finally I have to talk about the Michael Dunn case. He was found guilty on most charges. I will explain why this isn’t the travesty of justice that some are claiming as well as why it also doesn’t mean that Florida is in the clear.

Rush is my favorite band. I feel they are oft overlooked for their talent. That they only just recently made the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is evidence of how long it took for them to get respect by the business. So I am always happily surprised when I hear their music used in ways other than entertainment.
The song Working Man is one of my favorites. Watching the Sochi Olympics I heard the song come on and was wondering what this ad might be for. Turns out, it is for Walmart.

I will be throwing the topics to you guys. If you feel like talking about something, bring it on. Open lines, open chat room… as long as you have open minds I welcome you to the debate.
If you do not call in I can talk about a variety of issues like the conviction of Ray Nagin and what it means for Louisiana and the perception of corruption and how that is often skewed.
If there is time I will also discuss today’s ruling in KY requiring them to accept gay marriages from other states. I will discuss why the ruling doesn’t completely overturn the KY marriage ban and what needs to happen from here.
All those topics plus tweet of the week, headlines, words of redneck wisdom and more tonight on Liberal Dan Radio: Talk From The Left, That’s Right.
Also, I have enterred the small business, big grant contest by FedEx. Please remember to vote once a day, every day, until the end of the contest for Liberal Dan Radio.
