Liberal Dan Radio August 29, 2013: Syria, Katrina, and I Have a Dream

On the August 29th, 2013 Episode of Liberal Dan radio:

This is the 8th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina making landfall in Louisiana. What has happened since then. Are we better off? How are we still being failed? What needs to improve?

The Obama Administration is currently weighing our options after evidence points to Syria using illegal chemical weapons against the rebels. Do we need to get involved? Is this our problem or the worlds problem? Should we be more patient? Will anything this President does be considered correct by Republicans? Are there other reasons why we care about what is going on in Syria while ignoring other massacres around the world (i.e. Africa)?

Finally, this week marks the 50th anniversary of the Martin Luther King speech at the march on Washington. Conservatives are complaining that more conservative folks were not invited. Republicans like to say that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a Republican himself. I will go into why the Conservatives and the Republican Party needs to clean up some of their behavior before complaining about a lack of inclusion in the festivities.

Liberal Dan Radio August 22, 2013: Ferry Tolls, Education, and Untested Methods

On the August 22nd episode of Liberal Dan Radio:

Well, the New Orleans City Council made a decision on what to charge for tolls to cross the river on a ferry. Thank you to the “stop the tolls” folks for screwing the ferry riders over. I will rant about that for a bit and why they couldn’t simply find an alternate way to fund the ferries.

The past few weeks I have said that I would talk about education in New Orleans and why the charter school model is failing many different people. I will go into that topic as well.

Finally, I will be having Eric from Untested Methods on the show to discuss the new album that is dropping soon. This is a Liberal Radio exclusive, you won’t want to miss it.

All that plus headlines, words of redneck wisdom, tweet of the week, and more tonight on Liberal Dan Radio: Talk from the left, that’s right.

Liberal Dan Radio August 15th, 2013: Income inequality, the maximum wage, and Rodeo Clowns

On the August 15th 2013 episode of Liberal Dan Radio:

It was bound to happen since I do not always agree with my fellow liberals. On this show I am going to touch on several subjects where I will be critical of some liberals.

The MSNBC show All In With Chris they are requesting stories about income inequality and are labelling the campaign “#maximumwage“. It sounds like they are trying to solve the problems of the income inequality that happen in our country with setting a limit on how much someone can earn. I will go over some examples of what maximum wage supporters propose and why they absolutely will not work to solve income inequality.

On last week’s show I really was unable to get into education as much as I should have. So I will be going over some of the problems that Orleans Parish is having with delivering services to children with developmental disabilities.

Finally, everyone is talking about the Obama clown. I will explain from the liberal point of view why everyone is completely overreacting about this.

Liberal Dan Radio August 8th, 2013: Steroids in Baseball, Ferry Tolls, and more…

On the August 8th episode of Liberal Dan Radio:

Alex Rodriguez was just suspended through the end of the 2014 season and many others have also been suspended for their alleged use of prohibited substances. Is this right? Does Major League Baseball have some hypocrisy on the impact that these substances have on the game when other things that they do allow have extreme impacts on the game?

New Orleans is playing around with a horrible idea to fund the ferries. How could this have been stopped? What other examples would be better for ferry users? And what little nugget did I find on the stop the tolls website do I find most ironic?

New Orleans has some major failures when it comes to education. I will go into some of them as well.

The Liberal Dan Radio Kickstarter is still underway. Consider sponsoring the show or supporting it with contributions as low as $1.
